Software, IT and data interviews
Technical interviews usually include problem-solving in code or queries, a design conversation, and behavioral questions. Talking through your thinking matters as much as the final answer.
ResumePilot's own guide. It says what holds across employers; for one employer's rounds and reply times, open a job's prep card in Your resumes.
Role guides, the course library and a prep card for every saved job come with Scout and up. The general guide is free for everyone.
Coding and query rounds
- Restate the problem, ask about inputs and edge cases, then outline an approach before writing code.
- Start with something that works, then improve it. Say the time and space cost of each version.
- Data roles: practise SQL joins, window functions and aggregations on a realistic schema, out loud.
- Test your solution by walking through an example, including an empty or unusual input.
